What Are the National Means?… and What Do They Really Mean? Data Insights from WrapStat, Part 3

October 23, 2024 | NWI

For youth with complex needs and their families, research shows that Wraparound care coordination results in significantly better outcomes than uncoordinated “services as usual.” But such outcomes are impacted by how well Wraparound is implemented. For this reason, the Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team (WERT) and National Wraparound Implementation Center (NWIC) prioritize measures of “fidelity” to the Wraparound model at practice, organization, and system levels. But what areas of fidelity are easiest and hardest to achieve, according to families (about Wraparound practice), Wraparound providers (about program standards), and system leaders (about state systems)?

This webinar will present Wraparound fidelity results from dozens of states, hundreds of providers, and thousands of families and provide an initial answer to the question “what are the national means?” In particular, we will provide a deep dive into data from a sample of over 10,000 Wraparound Fidelity Index – Short Form (WFI-EZ) administrations. Areas of exploration will include results at the individual fidelity item level, which items vary most by provider and/or state, and how much youth and caregiver response rates affect fidelity scores. We will also discuss possible system and program level actions to address needs for improvement in quality and fidelity.

With this session, UW WERT and the NWI continue our commitment to feeding data back to our national Wraparound community of practice, examine trends in Wraparound implementation nationally, and identify ways licensed users can help us use data to continually improve Wraparound – locally and globally.
