Building Bridges Initiative and How Family-Run Organizations Can Get Involved

Family-run organizations often work with families caring for a child who may be considered for services from an out-of-home program, including residential programs – small group home or larger residential facility programs. Making a decision to have a child served in a place other than home can be a very difficult choice for families to make. Beth Caldwell, Director of BBI, will provide an overview of BBI and best practices that correlate to sustained positive outcomes after residential discharge. She will also discuss the creative ways in which family-run organizations can partner with residential and community providers to support use of these best practices, with a special emphasis on successfully engaging families and implementing family-driven care practices.
