This year the National Wraparound Initiative (NWI) and National Wraparound Implementation Center (NWIC) selected the following three finalists from the entries received:

  1. Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Oklahoma Systems of Care (OKSOC) and the E-TEAM at the University of Oklahoma, for their entry on the innovative use of technology to improve Wraparound.
  2. Wraparound New Haven (WANH), a project of Clifford Beers Clinic, operates in New Haven County, CT for the development of WANH, a model of care that links children and families to primary care physicians and community-based services while addressing their costly and ineffective ER visits for non-emergent care.
  3. Bergen’s Promise, the Care Management Organization for Bergen County under the NJ Children’s System of Care, recognized for their demonstration of the Wraparound Model as a team based learning platform for pediatric residents.

During the Academy, attendees reviewed material on each of the three finalists and voted for their favorites. On Tuesday, NWI Co-Directors Eric Bruns and Janet Walker announced the winner of this year’s Academy Award: the team from Oklahoma. The winner and two finalists were each presented with a framed certificate and a special print by George E.Miller, artist and child advocate.

Congratulations to all three finalists and thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination and voted during the Academy!
