Upcoming Webinar on SMART-Wrap Outcomes Monitoring
December 17, 2022 | NWI
Date/Time: January 17, 2023, 11am PT / 2pm ET
The WERT research team at the University of Washington is developing a mechanism for using ultra-brief text-based surveys to gather data on fidelity, satisfaction and outcomes from youth and caregivers in Wraparound. This system, called SMART-Wrap, will provide a low-burden, reliable approach for obtaining feedback from caregivers and youth enrolled in Wraparound. Data will be available to care coordinators, supervisors and managers, and can be used in monitoring fidelity, satisfaction, and outcomes. This webinar will report on initial testing and usability findings, and will describe opportunities for sites to participate in the next round of SMART-Wrap testing.
Webinar Recording: Improving Survey Response Rates for Better Wraparound Data
September 23, 2022 | NWI
Ensuring high-quality Wraparound is dependent on accurate assessment of fidelity and outcomes; however, many sites struggle to get data for sufficient numbers of youth and families. In this recording, presenters share best practices for obtaining high WFI-EZ response rates and describe ways that WrapStat, and other measures of the Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System (WFAS), can facilitate data collection best practices and high response rates.
New NWI Webinar Recording: WrapStat Turns One: An Overview and Update on the New Online Wraparound Evaluation System
April 29, 2022 | NWI
WrapStat, the online software package that supports collection of Wraparound fidelity, satisfaction, and outcomes data and use of the measures of the Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System, has now been online for nearly a year. In this webinar, members of the University of Washington Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team provided an overview of WrapStat, lessons learned from its first year of use, plans for the future, answers to FAQs, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
New Webinar Recording: ‘Wraparound and the Family First Prevention Services Act: Opportunities and Requirements for States’
March 9, 2022 | NWI
“Intensive Care Coordination Using a High Fidelity Wraparound Process” is now listed by the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) on the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse of research supported programs, and so is now eligible for Title IV-E reimbursement under the Family First Prevention Service Act (FFPSA). The NWI has developed several resources, including this webinar, to help states and other stakeholders understand the implications of this decision, as well as what they must do in order to include Wraparound in their FFPSA five-year plans.

Study Finds Wraparound Implementation Better in Care Management Entities
May 10, 2021 | NWI
A newly published study has found that Wraparound Implementation tends consistently to be better in Care Management Entities (CMEs) versus Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs). A blog post from the NWI discusses the findings and describes how strategies that make Wraparound implementation successful in CMEs can be replicated in CMHCs.
New Findings on Wraparound’s Effectiveness
April 13, 2021 | NWI
The Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry has just published a new study that formally summarizes the existing research on Wraparound’s costs and impact on child and youth outcomes. The new meta-analysis combines findings from 17 previous studies, and shows positive effects of Wraparound on cost of care, maintaining children and youth in their homes and communities, school functioning, mental health symptoms and general functioning. The analyses also suggest that Wraparound is particularly effective in producing positive outcomes for children and youth of color.
New NWI Guidance Document: “NWI Guidance for Family First Prevention Service Act Evaluation Plans for High Fidelity Wraparound”
March 26, 2021 | NWI
States that are interested in including Wraparound in their FFPSA five-year plan must also submit a well-designed and rigorous evaluation strategy, as well as a plan for continuous quality improvement (CQI) and fidelity monitoring. This new document from the NWI provides guidance on how to meet these criteria.
