Help Us Complete SMART-Wrap Development!
March 18, 2025 | NWI
The Short Message Assisted Responsive Treatment for Wraparound (SMART-Wrap) system is a text based system to assess fidelity, engagement, and outcomes for youth and caregivers enrolled in Wraparound and other care coordination models. SMART-Wrap aims to be efficient and low-burden by sending caregivers and older youth participating in Wraparound two- to four-item text-based surveys. The goal is to improve response rates and help Wraparound initiatives get and use “real-time” data, so they can be more responsive to the needs of families
SMART-Wrap will be ready for pilot testing later this year. To get to an effective and usable system for families and providers alike, see our call for pilot sites. We are seeking Wraparound providers, systems, and youth/caregivers with lived experience who can give a final review of proposed items and participate in focus groups. Organizations that participate will receive discounts on future SMART-Wrap license fees, and all who participate will receive honoraria. If you have any questions, email the UW Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team at wrapeval@uw.edu.
Webinar Recording: What Are the National Means?… and What Do They Really Mean? Data Insights from WrapStat, Part 3
January 26, 2025 | NWI
This webinar presented Wraparound fidelity results from dozens of states, hundreds of providers, and thousands of families and provided an initial answer to the question “what are the national means?” In particular, we provided a deep dive into data from a sample of over 10,000 Wraparound Fidelity Index – Short Form (WFI-EZ) administrations. Areas of exploration included results at the individual fidelity item level, which items vary most by provider and/or state, and how much youth and caregiver response rates affect fidelity scores. We also discussed possible system and program level actions to address needs for improvement in quality and fidelity.
Webinar Recording: Keeping Wrap on Track: A Panel of Large-Scale Wraparound Evaluation Efforts
May 1, 2024 | NWI
In this webinar, UW WERT highlight a handful of successful statewide evaluation efforts that use measures of the Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System (WFAS), such as the Wraparound Fidelity Index – Short Form (WFI-EZ) and the Team Observation Measure (TOM2.0), as well as the accompanying WrapStat database system. Evaluation leaders include Michelle Moreno from Illinois, Arturo Calderon from New Mexico, and Danielle Philips from Oregon. They describe how they approached decisions around WrapStat configuration, eligibility criteria, timelines for data collection and reporting, WFAS tool selection, and staffing and training for fidelity monitoring efforts.
Webinar Recording: What Factors Are Associated With Wraparound Fidelity and Satisfaction? Data Insights from WrapStat
February 14, 2024 | NWI
In this webinar we provide WrapStat users, Wraparound providers, system of care leaders, researchers, evaluators, and others with some initial findings from a sample of approximately 9000 Wraparound Fidelity Index – Short Form (WFI-EZ) administrations. The findings we present include associations between response rates and outcomes, how youth demographics (race/ethnicity, gender, age) are associated with fidelity and satisfaction, and how well demographics for WFI-EZ respondents reflect demographics of local populations of youth.
Webinar Recording: Text-Based Fidelity and Outcomes Monitoring for Wraparound: Results of “SMART-Wrap” Testing and Information for Interested Pilot Sites
January 24, 2023 | NWI
This NWI webinar reported on initial testing and usability findings, and will describe opportunities for sites to participate in the next round of SMART-Wrap testing.
Webinar Recording: Improving Survey Response Rates for Better Wraparound Data
September 23, 2022 | NWI
Ensuring high-quality Wraparound is dependent on accurate assessment of fidelity and outcomes; however, many sites struggle to get data for sufficient numbers of youth and families. In this recording, presenters share best practices for obtaining high WFI-EZ response rates and describe ways that WrapStat, and other measures of the Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System (WFAS), can facilitate data collection best practices and high response rates.

April 29, 2022 | NWI
WrapStat, the online software package that supports collection of Wraparound fidelity, satisfaction, and outcomes data and use of the measures of the Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System, has now been online for nearly a year. In this webinar, members of the University of Washington Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team provided an overview of WrapStat, lessons learned from its first year of use, plans for the future, answers to FAQs, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
New Webinar Recording: ‘Wraparound and the Family First Prevention Services Act: Opportunities and Requirements for States’
March 9, 2022 | NWI
“Intensive Care Coordination Using a High Fidelity Wraparound Process” is now listed by the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) on the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse of research supported programs, and so is now eligible for Title IV-E reimbursement under the Family First Prevention Service Act (FFPSA). The NWI has developed several resources, including this webinar, to help states and other stakeholders understand the implications of this decision, as well as what they must do in order to include Wraparound in their FFPSA five-year plans.
