The Institute for Innovation and Implementation (The Institute) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work has an opportunity for a Training Specialist, Senior Training Specialist, or Lead Training Specialist. The selected candidate’s title will be based on their education and experience. This position is responsible for all functions related to training and technical assistance for supporting Wraparound implementation nationally. Selected candidates will plan, fully develop, conduct, and administer training programs aimed to train professionals and improve their skills and knowledge in Wraparound and related topics maintaining content expertise specific to implementation of Wraparound. As training and coaching subject matter experts, these positions identify key trainings to implement, design the most complex curricula, evaluate, and develop tools to better assess training and other workforce development activities. These positions lead assignments including planning, executing, and status reporting of significant initiatives. The Institute supports state and local governments and organizations to implement effective systems and practices to best meet the needs of children and youth with complex behavioral needs and their families.

Over the past decade, The Institute has been involved with many key children’s initiatives in Maryland and across the nation, many of which have been supported by federal grants, waivers, and contracts from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). In Maryland, The Institute works closely with the Departments of Human Services, Juvenile Services, and Housing & Community Development, as well as the Maryland State Department of Education and local communities and providers, supporting and informing systems-level reform efforts. This position may allow for a remote workplace and may not require relocation to Maryland. This position requires flexible hours including travel nationally, which may require overnight stays, long drives, or air travel. Travel time is approximately 50 percent.
