October 16th Webinar: Tiered Care Coordination

Wraparound is intended to serve young people and their families with the highest levels of need. However, young people with less complex needs can benefit from care coordination at a lower level of intensity than Wraparound. This webinar discusses tiered care coordination, which provides youth and families with care coordination that reflects the Wraparound philosophy while aligning with their specific level of need.

Blog: We All Need Support and Community

The final blog of the summer centers on the support that we all need – not just families and young people, but also care coordinators, case managers, therapists and family partners, and even managers and administrators. One key source of support is the community formed by people connected to Wraparound. The blog describes one much-needed community-building event.

Events and Opportunities

Webinar: Reducing Burdens for People Accessing Services from Public Programs

Date/Time: September 25, 2024, 11am PT / 2pm ET

In the US, people often face obstacles that hinder their ability to fully participate in society and to access programs and benefits for which they qualify. Low-income people and those from otherwise marginalized groups are particularly vulnerable to these barriers and the burdens that result. This webinar summarizes research on the causes and impacts of administrative burden as seen in several programs, and offers implications for policy and practice approaches that can alleviate administrative burden for affected individuals and communities.

Webinar Series: Healing-centered Reunification for Young People Who Are Justice-impacted

Date/Time: October 1, 8, 15, and 22, 2024, 9am PT / 12pm ET

This series challenges the traditional focus on re-entry plans for youth who have been incarcerated. These plans often fail to address the underlying needs of young people. We’ll explore how systems of care can help young people transition from re-entry to re-integration with their communities and families. In each session, you’ll hear from national and international leaders working on the frontlines of youth justice who are championing healing-centered approaches.

Webinar: The Youth Protective Factors Study: Risk, Strengths, and Reoffending

Date/Time: October 2, 2024, 11am PT / 2pm ET

This webinar will present new research findings regarding what risk factors are most associated with youth reoffending, especially for serious offenses. Presenters will also describe research-based strategies for juvenile justice supervision, case planning, and service delivery to enhance public safety and improve youth outcomes.

Recorded Webinar: Incorporating Family Advisory Councils into Service Delivery and Research

Improving alignment between human services and family needs and goals has been a key area of focus for many state and local human services programs. Family advisory councils offer a unique opportunity to facilitate meaningful engagement with families served by public programs; gain family input on policies and practices that affect them; and ultimately, to help develop programs and policies that serve families successfully and equitably. In this session, panelists discussed their experiences developing, launching, and sustaining family advisory councils in policy and research.
