Order Print Copies of the NEW Family Guide to Wraparound

We’re pleased to announce that you can now order print copies of both the English and Spanish versions of the new revised and updated version of the Wraparound Process User's Guide: A Handbook for Families. The Guide provides families with information about what to expect from Wraparound and how the process will unfold. It also provides information about key Wraparound terms and roles.

Bridging the Wraparound Gap with FOCUS

Research continues to demonstrate positive outcomes from using Wraparound for youth with the most intensive needs. But what about families of children and youth with less intensive needs? How can systems of care implement “tiered” care coordination that can be right-sized to any level of intensity? This month’s blog focuses on tiered care coordination that uses a model called FOCUS to work with families and youth whose needs are complex, but not so intensive as to require a full Wraparound process. FOCUS is consistent with Wraparound values, and integrates evidence-supported practice elements shown to improve engagement and outcomes.

When faced with challenges like homework, screen time, food choices, and bedtime, it is helpful for parents to have a plan to address them with consistency. Children who have experienced trauma often respond with reactivity instead of receptivity. Nevertheless, caregivers can foster their children’s ability to be open and curious about the world despite its frustrations and challenges. This is done by specific strategies that initiate the thinking part of the brain, inviting exploration and chance-taking. This class outlines practical parenting strategies to help navigate common situations in the home.
