The Soul of Wraparound: New Report on Survey Findings

October's newsletter featured a blog post that pondered the extent to which Wraparound is keeping its soul – staying true to its principles and values – and the conditions that keep its soul robust. The newsletter also had a link to a survey that asked the NWI community to provide their thoughts on the state of Wraparound’s soul. More than 230 people responded, and their perceptions are compiled in a new report.

SMART-Wrap: Initial Research and Further Opportunities

The WERT research team at the University of Washington is developing a mechanism for using ultra-brief text-based surveys to gather data on fidelity, satisfaction and outcomes from youth and caregivers in Wraparound. This new blog reports on early usability findings, and describes opportunities for sites to participate in the next round of SMART-Wrap testing.

Webinar Recording: Expanding Inclusion of Fathers in Perinatal and Early Childhood Programs

Fathers play an important role in the lives and development of their children. Their influence begins even before birth – father involvement impacts maternal and child health in the prenatal period and beyond. In this webinar, presenters draw on their research and practice experience to discuss strategies to expand inclusion of fathers in services during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood. Fully engaging with all parents and caregivers is the best way to support the well-being of children.

Training Cohort: Suicide Prevention Training for Schools and Youth Services

Registration Deadline: December 22, 2022

SafeSide Youth Services unites clinical, school, and community staff with a common language and framework. This program, based in the latest research, will equip you with a common "map" of best practices in recovery-oriented suicide prevention. Training cohorts work together through 4 hours of video-guided learning in 90-minute segments. All participants take away tactics, tips, and wording they can use immediately... then continue learning and skill development through optional monthly video calls and new updates and refreshers added throughout the year.

Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) includes four modules that cover a combination of neuroscience and evidence based skills to decrease stress and help you withstand and bounce back from adversities. It addresses two aspects of the human experience – attention and interpretation.

Virtual Conference: 2023 Virtual System of Care Summit

Date/Location: May 10 – 11, 2023 / Online

The National Center for Training and Technical Assistance on Child, Youth, and Family Mental Health is pleased to announce a no-cost System of Care Summit (SOC Summit) on May 10 and 11, 2023. The SOC Summit is an opportunity for all children’s mental health partners to reunite, renew, and re-energize their efforts to support children and young people with behavioral health needs, as well as their families.  Presentation proposal submission is open now, and registration is coming soon.
