National Wraparound Implementation Academy 2019 is Almost Here!

After months of anticipation and preparation, it's almost time for NWIA 2019, Sept. 9–11 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. This popular biennial event is SOLD OUT, and onsite registration will not be available.

Everyone registered for the NWIA 2019 should download the Academy Mobile App for all the event details. New this year, the app includes descriptions of the sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday so attendees can plan which ones they want to attend.

One-on-one technical assistance and consultation with leading Wraparound and system experts will be offered at NWIA 2019. To request a consultation spot, registered attendees need to complete a brief survey by Aug. 30.

Webinar Recording: "Wrap and Tech: Electronic Health Records, Measurement and Feedback Systems, and Other Supportive Online Technologies for Wraparound"

Hosted by the TA Network, this webinar with presenters from NWI's Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team (WERT) at the University of Washington focused on the selection and implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other web-based technologies in a Wraparound setting.

Events and Opportunities

Webinar: Operationalizing Partnerships with Juvenile Justice in Systems of Care

Date/Time: September 5, 2019, 10am – 11am PT, 1pm – 2pm ET

This webinar will discuss the services and main outcomes of the UMMS Child Trauma Training Center (CTTC) – a statewide project funded by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) through the NCTSN (National Child Traumatic Stress Network) with additional funding from the Lookout Foundation and the Department of Mental Health. Presenters will discuss the main goals of CTTC, including: 1) providing training to child-serving professionals (within pediatrics, schools, law enforcement, courts) in trauma-informed care and practices; ii) referring children and families to evidence-based trauma treatment through a Centralized Referral System, LINK-KID; and 3) providing training to clinicians in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

2019 Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health

Date/Location: Nov 7 – 9, 2019, Austin, TX

Each year, the Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health brings together leaders, practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders in the school mental health field to share the latest research and best practices. Hosted by the National Center for School Mental Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the conference emphasizes a shared school-family-community agenda to bring high quality and evidence-based mental health promotion, prevention, and intervention to students and families as part of a multi-tiered system of supports. Poster submission deadline for the November 8 poster presentation/networking event is September 15, 2019

2020 Training Institutes

Date/Location: June 29 – 30, 2020, Pre-Institutes / July 1 – 3, 2020, Training Institutes, Orlando, FL

The 2020 Training Institutes, #WhatCouldBe: Bolder Systems & Brighter Futures for Children, Youth, Young Adults & their Families, challenge us to build on existing delivery systems for children's services with new ideas and approaches. Proposals are welcomed to present knowledge, best-practice strategies, research, results, and ideas from individuals with expertise in integrating systems and improving outcomes for children, youth, young adults, and their families. Proposal submission deadline is September 16, 2019.

Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health 30th Annual Conference

Date/Location: November 14 – 16, 2019, Phoenix, AZ

The National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health is a nationwide advocacy organization with families as its sole focus, playing an important role in helping children, youth, and their families whose lives are impacted by mental health challenges. Early bird registration deadline is September 30, 2019.

Call for Proposals 33rd Annual Research & Policy Conference on Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Behavioral Health

Date/Location: March 15 – 18, 2020, Tampa, FL

The conference planning committee is seeking proposals for presentations on research benefitting children, youth and their families. Now in its 33rd year, the "Tampa Conference" encourages researchers, evaluators, and policymakers to become engaged in developing creative solutions for the issues facing the country's most challenged children and their families. Proposal submission deadline is October 11, 2019.
