Early Bird Registration is Open for National Wraparound Implementation Academy

Registration is now open for the National Wraparound Implementation Academy. Register by March 31, 2019 for the early bird rate and save $100. The Academy will be held September 9-11, 2019 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, MD. The Academy is designed to provide participants involved in Wraparound – care coordinators, care supervisors, state and organizational leaders, parent peer support providers and more – the opportunity to build skills and gain tools and information to use in their states, tribes and organizations.

New Spanish-Language Publications from NWI

Thanks to support from SAMHSA and NTTAC, NWI has been able to add to our Spanish-language materials. Manual del usario del proceso de Wraparound (asistencia integral), the Spanish-language version of Wraparound Guide for Families has been updated. In addition, Spanish-language versions of two other key documents from NWI are now available: Conceptos basicos sobre Wraparound (asistencia integral) [Wraparound Basics], and Los diez principios del proceso de Wraparound [10 Principles of Wraparound].

New "What is Wraparound" Monthly Minute Video

This short animated video developed by NWIC and NWI in collaboration with The Institute for Innovation & Implementation describes the evolution of the Wraparound movement and briefly outlines system-, provider-, and family-level conditions needed to ensure successful implementation efforts. Wraparound outcome data illustrates how this care coordination practice model cost-effectively supports youth with complex behavioral needs and their families.

Jonathan Drake

Jonathon Drake Memorial Fund

Jonathon Drake, MSW, was a tireless advocate for youth, especially youth with emotional and behavioral challenges, and the professionals who support them. As a Project Director at the University of New Hampshire's Institute on Disability, Jonathon worked as a RENEW Trainer, Wraparound Coach, and direct support professional. His family and colleagues have established the Jonathon Drake Memorial Fund to help continue the efforts he made during his life to sustain system-level change and to promote positive opportunities for youth.

Opportunity: Evaluation and Program Operations Specialist

The University of Washington Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team (UW WERT), the accountability wing of the NWIC, is recruiting a high-level Evaluation and Program Operations Specialist to join our team in Seattle, WA. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our team, and promoting high-quality Wraparound worldwide.

32nd Annual Research & Policy Conference Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Behavioral Health

Date / Location: March 3 – 6, 2019, Tampa, FL

Known widely as "The Tampa Conference," this annual gathering of more than 500 researchers, evaluators, policymakers, administrators, parents, and advocates is sponsored by Child & Family Studies at the University of South Florida and partners, including the National Wraparound Initiative.

Call for Proposals: 2019 Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health

Submission Deadline: March 11, 2019

The Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health is seeking proposal submissions for this year's conference. The theme of this year's conference is Safe and Supportive Schools for All Students. The conference will be held November 7–9, 2019, in Austin Texas.

Webinar: Operationalizing System of Care Communication: Telling Stories That Work

Date / Time: March, 20, 2019, 11:30am – 1pm PT / 2:30pm – 4pm ET

Part of the TA Network's System of Care Leadership Learning Community, this webinar will launch a four-part Communication Series, Reframing Child and Adolescent Wellbeing, provided by the FrameWorks Institute. In this webinar, participants will learn about strategic framing: what it is, how it works, and why it matters; and will gain new tools that can be used right away.

System of Care (SOC) Expansion and Sustainability Grants

Application Deadline: April 19, 2019

The purpose of this program is to improve the mental health outcomes for children and youth, birth through age 21, with serious emotional disturbance, and their families. This program will support the implementation, expansion, and integration of the SOC approach by creating sustainable infrastructure and services that are required as part of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and their Families Program.

Project LAUNCH Children's Health Grant Program

Application Deadline: April 19, 2019

The purpose of this program is to promote the wellness of young children, from birth to 8 years of age, by addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and behavioral aspects of their development. It is expected that this program will provide local communities or tribes the opportunity to disseminate effective and innovative early childhood mental health practices and services, ultimately leading to better outcomes for young children and their families.
