Second Annual National Wraparound Academy: "Advancing Systems, Enhancing the Workforce, Improving Outcomes"

The Academy will provide individuals in key Wraparound roles – including care coordinators, parent and youth partners, supervisors and managers, policy-makers, family and youth leaders, researchers and evaluators – with opportunities to learn from the field's foremost experts in Wraparound and systems of care. In the Academy You Will:

  • Be trained on new skills, or deepen and enhance existing ones.
  • Design and sustain policy and funding environments that are hospitable to Wraparound and systems of care principles and practice.
  • Learn how to supervise and manage within a Wraparound-informed system of care.
  • Strengthen connections across family, community, and natural sources of support.
  • Mobilize the evidence base on "what works" at system, program, and practice levels.
  • Learn how to use data to support effective decision-making, be accountable to funders, and stay on track.
  • Get individualized technical assistance from over a dozen internationally recognized content experts in Wraparound, evidence-based practice, research/evaluation, and family- and youth-driven care.
  • Network with existing colleagues and make new friends.
  • Earn CEUs for attending!

Schedule at a Glance:

The 2016 Academy will provide all the following for one registration fee:

Monday: Full day intensive training sessions in six tracks:

  • Building skills in Wraparound facilitation
  • Building skills in parent peer-to-peer support
  • Data-informed, effective supervision
  • Skills and successful strategies for engaging youth and young adults in Wraparound
  • Financing, policy-making, and management
  • Evaluation, research, and outcomes management

Tuesday & Wednesday: Skills-based workshops ranging from 1.5 to 3 hours on a broad range of additional topics. Some workshops will continue to build skills from Monday's intensive training sessions. You can attend whichever workshops you want. Offerings will include topics such as:

  • How to build and sustain effective family- and youth-run organizations
  • Promoting youth and family voice
  • Providing evidence-based practices in your Wraparound service array
  • Electronic health records and other data systems
  • Advanced facilitation topics, such as running meetings, transition planning, strengths finding, and building natural supports
  • Advanced management topics, such as data-informed supervision and coaching, staff recruitment and retention, and using administrative data to stay on track
  • Advanced youth and parent support topics, such as effective supervision, and the role of the youth and parent partners on Wraparound teams
  • Topics related to implementing youth/young adult peer support, including program design and planning for hiring, training and supervision
  • Trauma-informed service delivery and systems
  • Fidelity and outcomes measurement: From measure selection to analysis to reporting

There will also be scheduled time for individualized technical assistance from over 20 experts from the Academy's faculty, and opportunities to network and socialize.
